The Wednesday Word - carapace

Best Blogger Tips

Wednesday, 9 October 2013

Today’s word is carapace. It is the thick shell that covers the back of a turtle, or crab or other shell animals, but can also be something else like a shell that protects or covers things from outside influence.

Here is my quote for it:

“Roald Dahl did most of his writing in a shed in the backyard of his home, a place of his own, a carapace, where all his wonderful characters and ideas came to life”.

Feel free to let me know if you ever come across a word you think may be appropriate for this part of my blog.
