The Wednesday Word - carapace
Today’s word is carapace. It is the thick shell that covers
the back of a turtle, or crab or other shell animals, but can also be something
else like a shell that protects or covers things from outside influence.
Here is my quote for it:
“Roald Dahl did most of his writing in a shed in the
backyard of his home, a place of his own, a carapace, where all his wonderful
characters and ideas came to life”.
Check out the original Wednesday Word, or many other Wednesday Words here.
Feel free to let me know if you ever come across a word you think may be appropriate for this part of my blog.
