The Wednesday Word - eleemosynary
Today’s word is eleemosynary, which is pronounced “el ah mos
ah nair ee”, which is a word all about charity, that is, of charity, for charity,
given in charity, having the nature of charity or supported by or dependant on
charity.
Here is my quote for it:
“The author’s eleemosynary assistance came by not only
showing his readers phonetically how to pronounce difficult words but also having
compassion on those in need of learning gooder English.”
Check out the original Wednesday Word, or many other Wednesday Words here.
Feel free to let me know if you ever come across a word you think may be appropriate for this part of my blog.
