Aphotic
I don't know why, but I love this word - aphotic - and that was before I even knew what it meant.
It is an adjective that means having no light, or a region of a body of water that is not reached by sunlight.
Pointless post now over.

I beg to differ! Not pointless at all :-)
Aphotic is a very interesting word indeed. From the Greek φωτος (fotós) meaning light and alpha the negative or privative alpha (as in Atheist or amoral).
Definitely a word I shall use more often.
I would love to use it more often, but not sure I will get much of a chance. But i really like the sound of the word.
