Punctuation matters - placement

Here is a much quoted example on the importance of commas and colons. How do you read this?

A woman without her man is nothing.

If you are a chauvinist you put the punctuations here:

A woman, without her man, is nothing.

If you are a feminist you put the punctuation here:

A woman: without her, man is nothing.
