The Wednesday Word - fillip
Today's Wednesday Word is fillip. It is the sound that is caused by a finger snap. Who would have thought there would have been a word for that sound, but there is, and it is fillip. It can also be used figuratively in to snap something on, or urge it forward, as in to snap into action, or to fillip into action.
Here is my quote for it:
Kevin Rudd's stimulus package was an attempt to fillip the economy, but many have claimed it barely even tickled the sides.
