Hearing aid discrimination

Do we really have such bad discrimination against the Deaf or hearing impaired that we would force people to act as if their hearing aid was actually some outdated form of a mobile phone?

I don't know what you think of this product, but I think it's a sad indictment on society that it would even exist.
