Whether their opposition is justified, the horse trainers at Randwick racecourse are still unhappy at the three day exclusion period for the Catholic World Youth Day (“Church backdown in races dispute”, August 23). While debate can rage as to whether a building, stadium or racecourse is the most appropriate place for such a gathering, a church, or even a papal mass, surely the trainers aren’t suggesting business as usual, are they?
